Secondary Education Podcast - Promoting Equality in African Schools
In collaboration with our community, Global Schools Forum recently released a practice brief on how secondary education can build skills and agency in young people to help them succeed in tertiary education or work. Using available literature as well as experiences from participating members of our Community of Practice on secondary education, the brief looks at how we can provide equitable access to students, build agency in young people and how secondary education needs to respond to the realities of the community. We are now launching a podcast series to speak to students, teachers, and school leaders from some of the organisations who contributed to the practice brief. This is an effort to connect with the direct beneficiaries and listen to their lived experiences. We hope this endeavor will bring to surface, unique and rich insights from what it means to be in a secondary school in LMIC context, and how this journey can be strengthened, with building young people’s capacity and agency as a guiding aspiration.
